Journal of Sociology in the Global South (JSGS) prioritizes original research articles and scholarly papers that contribute to the advancement of sociological knowledge, particularly those grounded in the social realities, epistemologies, and transformations of the Global South...

Manuscripts may be written in either English or Bahasa Indonesia. Submissions in English must adhere to international academic standards, while Indonesian manuscripts must follow Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia (EBI).

All manuscripts must be typed using Calibri 12 pt, 1.15 spacing, A4 paper, and range between 4,000–8,000 words. Files must be submitted in .doc or .docx format.

All submissions must be original and free from plagiarism. Manuscripts are screened using Turnitin with a maximum similarity index of 20%.

The journal uses APA Style 7th Edition. Authors are encouraged to use reference managers such as Mendeley or Zotero.

  • Minimum 20 references
  • 80% from primary sources
  • 80% from the last 10 years
