Peer Review Process
The Journal of of Economics and Business in the Global South (JEBGS) implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published articles. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to maintain objectivity and impartiality in the evaluation.
All submitted manuscripts are assessed based on their scholarly merit, including originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, clarity of analysis, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
Review Stages
- Initial Submission and Editorial Screening
Upon submission, the manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team to ensure its alignment with the journal’s focus and scope, as well as compliance with submission guidelines and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review.
- Plagiarism Check
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure originality. Submissions with a high level of similarity or evidence of academic misconduct will be rejected immediately.
- Assignment to Section Editor
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a Section Editor or Handling Editor with relevant expertise in the subject area.
- Double-Blind Peer Review
The manuscript is sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, theoretical framework, methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field of economic and business, particularly within the Global South context.
