Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Global South (JCEEGS)

Authors who publish with the Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Global South (JCEEGS) retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication.

All articles published in JCEEGS are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

Under this license, users are free to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially

These permissions are granted provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are clearly indicated.

Authors are permitted to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the work (e.g., depositing it in institutional repositories, sharing on personal websites, or including it in future publications), provided that the original publication in JCEEGS is properly acknowledged.

Author Rights

Authors publishing in JCEEGS retain full copyright of their work. By submitting and publishing in the journal, authors grant JCEEGS the right of first publication while maintaining ownership of their intellectual property.

Authors have the right to:

  • Share and disseminate their published work freely without restriction
  • Reuse parts or the entirety of their work in future publications (e.g., books, teaching materials, or derivative works)
  • Grant non-exclusive rights to third parties to use the work, provided proper acknowledgment of its initial publication in JCEEGS
  • Retain patent, trademark, and other proprietary rights related to their research

Self-Archiving Policy

JCEEGS supports open knowledge dissemination and allows authors to archive their work in repositories and academic platforms without restriction.

Authors are permitted to deposit the following versions of their manuscript:

  • Preprint (submitted version): May be shared at any time on personal websites, institutional repositories, or preprint servers.
  • Accepted Manuscript (peer-reviewed version): May be deposited immediately after acceptance, with acknowledgment of publication in JCEEGS.
  • Version of Record (published version): May be shared and archived immediately after publication, including on institutional repositories, personal websites, and academic platforms.

When self-archiving, authors are encouraged to:

  • Provide a full citation to the published article in JCEEGS
  • Include a link to the journal website or DOI
  • Clearly indicate the version of the manuscript being shared
