The Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering in the Global South (JCEEGS) prioritizes high-quality original research and scholarly contributions that advance knowledge in civil and environmental engineering, particularly within the diverse and dynamic contexts of the Global South. The journal welcomes manuscripts that combine technical rigor with contextual relevance, addressing real-world challenges such as infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and socio-technical transformation.

Manuscripts must be written in English</strong using clear and academically appropriate language. Authors are expected to adhere to international scholarly standards in structure, clarity, and citation practices.

All manuscripts must be prepared using Calibri 12 pt, 1.15 line spacing, A4 paper size, and range between 5,000–9,000 words. Files must be submitted in .doc or .docx format.

All submissions must be original and free from plagiarism. Manuscripts will be screened using similarity detection software (e.g., Turnitin), with a maximum similarity index of 20%.

3. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

a. Article Structure

  • Title
  • Abstract (150–250 words)
  • Keywords (5–7 words)
  • Introduction

  • Acknowledgements (optional)
  • References

b. Formatting

c. Citation & Reference Style

JCEEGS uses the APA Style (7th Edition). Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

  • Minimum of 25 references
  • At least 80% from primary sources (journal articles, proceedings)
  • At least 80% from the last 10 years

11. Author Responsibilities

  • All listed authors must have made significant contributions
