Abstract

This study examines a community-based digital transformation model for rural Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the adoption of Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS), digital cashier applications, and geo-mapping assistance in Katapang Hamlet, Indonesia. The study addresses persistent challenges faced by rural MSMEs, including limited digital literacy, reliance on cash transactions, manual bookkeeping, and low online business visibility. A Participatory Action Research approach with descriptive qualitative methods and supporting quantitative data was employed involving 12 MSME actors from culinary, retail, workshop, and home-based business sectors. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and digital skills evaluation. The intervention consisted of needs assessment, participatory mentoring, QRIS registration, digital cashier training using the Kasir Go application, and business location registration through Google Maps. The findings reveal that all participating MSMEs successfully adopted QRIS, utilized digital cashier systems, and established online business visibility through geo-mapping platforms. The program significantly improved digital literacy, transaction management efficiency, cashless payment readiness, and business accessibility. The study contributes a participatory and integrated digitalization framework tailored to rural and archipelagic communities, offering a replicable model for strengthening digital inclusion, MSME competitiveness, and sustainable local economic development.
